S500MC steel is a high-strength low-alloy steel with a minimum yield strength of 500 MPa, manufactured according to EN 10149-2 standards. Its chemical structure consists of carbon (up to 0.12%), manganese (up to 1.70%), silicon (up to 0.50%), phosphorus (up to 0.025%), sulfur (up to 0.015%), aluminum (min 0.015%), niobium (up to 0.09%), titanium (up to 0.15%), and vanadium (up to 0.20%). Its mechanical characteristics comprise tensile strength values between 550–700 MPa and elongation of 12–14% based on thickness. Impact toughness is 40 J at -20°C, thereby providing resistance to low-temperature conditions.
