SA 285 Grade A Sheets and Plates are carbon steel materials primarily composed of carbon (up to 0.17%), manganese (0.50–0.90%), phosphorus (max 0.035%), and sulfur (max 0.035%). These plates have a minimum yield strength of 205 MPa and a moderate tensile strength, usually ranging from 380 to 515 MPa. They are ideal for welding and shaping processes because of their exceptional formability and weldability, which are designed for low-pressure applications. SA 285 Gr A plates provide good ductility and consistent performance in pressure-related environments because they are not heat-treated and are supplied in their as-rolled state.
